Zombies, Phase 2

icon_roach.gifAs reported by WoW Insider the plague is spreading. There are now infected crates in the capital cities and Plague Roaches, which infect you when you kill them.

Might not be a bad idea to get your bank alts to do list out of the way now and keep them offline over the weekend. Things are going to get fun or not, depending on your point of view, with the weekend population.

Zombie Survival Guide

I’ve come up with two guides: one for zombies and one for the party poopers non-zombies. What I’ve done is consolidate the information we know about how the infection and zombies work. As you’ll see the event is designed to be limited in scope and range. Zombies can’t travel far and are fairly easy to put down. Infection is even easier to stop if you catch it early. Still it is a lot of fun tearing up a questing town, or stopping someone from doing such, and I think we all know what something even worst will be upon us soon. Read more… »

A’dal Cheats

I managed to get my zombie into A’dal’s room in Shattrath City. I knew it was a suicide mission, I just wanted to see what a naruu zombie looked like. Unfortunately the game kept me from actually attacking A’dal and pals and I was pretty quickly picked off by the nearby Agrent Crusade healer. Naruu cheat, plain and simple. So much for them being the good guys.

Death Knight Warmup – Zombie World Event

zombie_dedbitt.gif

As you may have seen yesterday, or read about already on deathknight.info, MMO-Champion, or WoW Insider, zombies are on the loose. And by on the loose I mean I would of completely taken over Sentinel Hill last night if it wasn’t for that meddling level 70 druid.

Long story short, there are mysterious crates in Booty Bay, Stranglehorn Vale. If you try to open one you become infected. Once infected you can be cured by Argent Crusade NPCs, located in capital cities, or any player who can cure disease (priest, shaman, paladin). If you are not cured before the 10 minute timer is up you turn into a zombie. As a zombie you can attack any player (of either faction) and any NPC. You are friendly to other zombies. Anything you attack can become infected and also turn into a zombie. Read more… »

Death Knight Glyphs, Pre-WotLK

glyphs_gnomedk.gif

Glyphs are spell and ability enhancements that can be created by inscription, the new WotLK profession. Since inscription was introduced in patch 3.0.2 last week there are probably some inscribers in your guild already skilled up to around 365. If not your realm’s auction house is sure to be stuffed with glyphs.

You can get all the details on glyphs from WoWWiki.

Since glyphs are available already you know what that means… we get to squirrel away more stuff before expansion! That reminds me, Blizzard you are welcome for the sudden increase in bank storage purchases.

So let’s get down to it and look at the glyphs available to death knights now. Keep in mind there are more glyphs than these, but we’re limited to the ones created by 375 skill or lower until after expansion. Read more… »

Preparing For Your Death Knight – Professions

Leveling Gear | Quests | Factions | Consumables | Professions

Preparing For Your Death Knight is for those players planning to switch their mains to a death knight and are willing to go the extra mile before expansion to help speed up their death knight’s development after expansion launches. These steps are by no means required if you want to level a death knight, but they do help speed up the leveling process.

One of the few downsides to changing your main to a death knight is having to start over with professions. While not much will take away from the annoyance of dealing with low level profession grinding on a hero class character, Blizzard is at least helping on the other end. With the new Northrend recipes you only need to get your professions to around 350 before you can start learning all new ones. This will allow us to continue our professions easily once in Northrend without costing us an arm and a leg (easily obtainable for us undead, though it may be) grinding from 350 to 375 with just Outland recipes. Consumables certainly won’t make or break your ability to level your death knight quickly, so you don’t need them. However, if you have the money or materials to get some made they certainly do help. In beta testing it was taking death knights anywhere from 20 to 40 hours played to get to Northrend, depending on skill and efficiency. Keep those numbers in mind when looking at how many of each consumable you want to stock pile. Read more… »

For the most part I plan to skip Azeroth and Outland reputation grinds, at least until after I’m level 80 and bored. The most relevant factions after expansion are in Northrend and we’ll deal with those when we get there. However there are two factions in Outland which can help boost your leveling: Cenarion Expedition and The Aldor. Read more… »

Sure your death knight will have more quests than you can shake a ghoul at once you hit Outland, but why wait? There are quests which ask for items that aren’t actually quest items, which means you can gather them now and send them along to your death knight later for fast and easy XP. Read more… »

Death Knight Set vs Outland Quest Rewards

The death knight armor set you’ll get at the end of Ebon Hold, the start area, is great. Item level wise the gear is as good as 20-man raid epics from vanilla WoW, but with stats designed for Outland leveling. It is also one of the best looking sets I’ve seen in game. Given its stats and looks it would be a shame to trade it in within hours of play time for an infamous Outland clown suit.

So don’t. Read more… »
